¿Haz leído de lo romántico que puede ser las góndolas de París? Pues el mexicano le apuesta a todo su folklore en un pasaje acuático, por los callejones rodeados de chinampas. Sucede que hace miles de años los grupos que llegaron a poblar el lago, debían alimentarse y tener un lugar con suficiente agua para poder nutrir sus sembradíos, así mismo lograron ingeniosamente montar balsas entre ramas y arbustos y sobre estas tierra, las que se nombran chinampas, creando formas de islotes y colocar viviendas y el lugar idóneo para que sus tierras siempre tuvieran agua. Creando el lugar ideal para que algunas plantas medicinales, flores, frutos y algunas semillas, lograran subsistir, claro que debieron enfrentarse ahora a las temporalidades del clima o estaciones del año, pero con la seguridad de que el agua no les faltaría.
Hoy en día han quedado caminos de agua que se recorren en tan coloridas balsas llamadas trajineras o chalupas. Los oriundos del poblado, nos llevan en aventuras e historias, anécdotas, tradiciones y leyendas originarias de este lugar tan pintoresco. Familias enteras pueden llevar su comida y pasar un día increíble comiendo y riendo, es una experiencia inolvidable. Algunos artistas entre cantantes, mariachis, norteños, marimbas y trios, también se mueven en su propia chalupa, llevando alegría a quienes gusten de su música.
Puedes rentar una chalupa por tiempo o por la tarde entera, o por cruzar a ciertos negocios que están en algunas chinampas. Dónde encontrarán una amplia gama de flores. Justo en las orillas de este maravilloso lago de xochimilco, estarán artesanos y cocineras, entre merenderos y otros restaurantes e incluso bares, esperando complacer tus antojos y gustos, para poder añadir más amenidades a la visita del tan hermoso Xochimilco.
Cada Chalupa tiene nombres grabados con colores hermosos contrastantes, entre los que predomina el rosa mexicano, naranja, azul rey, amarillo y blanco, incluso hasta colores fluorescentes hasta metálicos. adornados también con maravillosas formas de rosas y flores de cempasúchil u otras figuras estéticas e ingeniosas del artesano mexicano. Esta es conducida por algún trajinero joven o señor de la región, quienes podrán orientarte actividades o lugares por visitar en la chalupa para lograr una tarde inolvidable.
Te recomendamos que no excedas en beber dentro de las chalupas ya que así podemos evitar caídas u otro tipo de accidentes. y cuida muy bien tus pertenencias y evita que los niños se acerquen a la orilla ya que pueden caer al agua o rodar dentro de la chalupa. Si llevas cosas que pueden derramarse, siempre tápalas, ya que los movimientos son impredecibles en la maniobra de las chalupas, porque aunque no creas también puedes estar varado algunos minutos en el tráfico, por las personas que obstaculizan la circulación, comprando o bajando a a alguna chinampa.
